“While embracing digital is important, relationships will always be the most important aspect of our business. Relationships and trust power everything,” said Jim Breslawski, President of Henry Schein and CEO, Global Dental Group, during his keynote address to wrap up the two-day Cal-Lab Group meeting at the Westin Michigan Avenue.
Among the trends he covered:
- In the fourth quarter of 2016, patient traffic increased 2.4%, a slight improvement over the previous quarter. More children and seniors are visiting the dentist but less working adults are going; the biggest barriers to going to the dentist is out-of-pocket cost and perceived lack of need for care.
- Dental consumers are becoming more educated regarding treatment options, especially implants. “The U.S. implant market is underpenetrated, which means there is tremendous opportunity in this arena,” he said.
