Have you thought about you paying for the materials and leasing the space? It would seem hard to determine your fees if the dentist was paying for all the supplies.

A dentist-friend has asked me to open a dental lab in her practice. She will be providing the material and equipment and I will be able to get outside clients. What percentage of my revenue do I give her? Do I do her work for free?

I am a dental lab tech (of 15 years) who returned to school a age 30 to pursue my DMD degree which I obtained in May of 2013. I am a lab tech first and love to stay in touch and be a part of the dental lab industry.

This is a great way to lose a friend and an account if you don't keep everything separate. What if you use supplies they purchased on another case, how much does a cup of plaster cost?
