Note: This seminar is from a past LAB DAY show
Laboratories are using laser sintering, a manufacturing technology that builds up parts additively, layer by layer, directly from 3D CAD data. Thomas Thiel discusses direct metal laser sintering (DLMS) for producing approximately 450 crown and bridge units in 24 hours, unattended. He also explores plastic laser sintering to produce plastic models for quality checks and analysis.
