FOREDOM ELECTRIC's Kit K.3280 includes a bench lathe and filter hood. The powerful, variable-speed lathe with tapered spindles is compact enough for use at the workbench. Its 1/6-HP, high-torque, permanent magnet motor is quiet and smooth running, runs at speeds of 500-7,000 RPM, and has the power required for polishing and buffing. The MAFH25 Filter Hood works with the lathe and has a variable-speed motor with strong suction power for removing dust particles and reclaiming precious metal. Made of powder-coated, heavy-gauge steel, the CE-compliant hood has a removable metal watertight tray, gooseneck-mounted LED light and clear acrylic shield. It comes with one charcoal and two polyester filters. Cost: $490.
