GDLA's 'What is the Dental Laboratory Profession?' Video Nominated for a National Emmy

“What is the Dental Laboratory Profession?” is a five-minute informational video about the role of the technician created by the Georgia Dental Laboratory Association (GDLA). Filmed mainly at NuCraft Dental Arts in Bogart, GA, the video brings viewers into the lab for a first-hand look at technicians fabricating restorations conventionally and digitally. NuCraft Owner Terry Fohey, CDT, is interviewed about why he loves being a technician and shares the details of a case where he was able to make a difference in someone’s life.

“Our profession is, in many ways, hidden from view,” explains Dean Jones, Executive Director of the GDLA. “Board Member Lee Benton, CDT, came up with the idea of making a video to let others know about us and with hopes it would inspire profession-seeking people to give our industry a look.”
