Master Course A- Design and Fabrication of CAD/CAM Bar, Screw Retained Hybrids: Tom Wade, CDT
Export to Google · Add to iCal or Outlook
This course will examine in detail, the criteria and design considerations utilized in the “reverse engineering” concept as well as fabrication techniques for state-of-the-art CAD/CAM milled titanium bar prostheses for treatment of the edentulous patient.
The course will include an overview of implant supported bar restorations offered by Nobel Biocare and hands-on participation in the use of NobelProcera design software for virtual custom Hybrid bar design.
Participants will fabricate screw retained “resin base-bars” on which to diagnostically set denture teeth using Ivoclar Phonares II Nano-hybrid composite resin denture teeth. Proper positioning of denture teeth for occlusal schemes specific to implant supported restorations, which are critical to long term durability of the prostheses and will be discussed. Detailed processing techniques for screw-retained hybrids (Fixed-detachables), will be presented and demonstrated utilizing Ivoclar’s state-of-the-art “Ivobase” injection processing system.
Other considerations specific to this arena of technology will be briefly reviewed including various design concepts and comparisons for hybrid bar styles such as Wrap-Around vs. Montreal, as well as common pitfalls such as inadequate vertical space, facially divergent implants, and “unfriendly” implant systems. Materials and component science to insure state-of-the-art accuracy and durability will be discussed in depth.
Participants that have enjoyed this course may also like the new CAD/CAM bar course that examines design and processing techniques specific to attached over-denture bar restorations.
The course also looks at Nobel Clinician digital planning software for strategic implant placement,
and discusses the Laboratories role, as well as the All-on-4™ treatment, including
Immediate Load Conversion concepts from the laboratory perspective.
