EGS Updates DentalCad Software, DScan 3 Scanner

EGS, which was acquired by Heraeus Kulzer GmbH in October, presented updates for its two core products:



  • DentalCad 4 software now features a new “DentalCad Touch Screen” working mode, powerful wax-up functions, angled implant support, and deformation and sculpting tools.

  • The latest generation of the DScan 3 scanner features a unique “ghost cover”—a clear, plastic cover that allows you to see the inner components of the unit. Its blue structured light technology allows for faster and more accurate 3D scanning of the model. It works with the verticulator tool in order to scan the models in occlusion and the entire verticulator in a certain and repeatable position. Due to its new high quality optical detectors and mechanical components and the latest-generation PC installed directly in the scanner case, it operates in all light conditions, even capturing semi-reflecting objects.
