Danny da Silva, CDT, is not a big fan of vacations. “I love what I do and having the ability to create with my hands. So, when I’m not working, I get bored,” he says.


After earning his bachelor’s degree in Dental Technology in South Africa, da Silva immigrated to the U.S. in 2016 and became the Production Manager at Centex Dental Lab, a nine-person full service lab in Waco, TX. While he’s involved in many aspects of production, he’s happiest doing removable prosthetics, especially hybrid conversions and digital dentures.


“We’ve just purchased a new printer so now I’m printing the denture base and milling the teeth. I know some people are concerned about technology replacing technicians but I’m excited for the future, to see where technology takes us and how it can make our lives easier,” says da Silva.
