In June 2016, Amelia Watson met her future boss, Clemont Adams, at a Jiu-Jitsu gym. He needed help in the model department of his eight-person lab, Rayven Dental Lab, Grand Junction, CO, and so began her career in dental technology.
She’s quickly evolved into a talented, all-around technician and is now focused on fabricating complete dentures and partials. “I love being a technician in this small lab because the culture allows you to be close with coworkers and you’re in charge of the quality of your own work,” says Watson. A lover of all things sparkly, she also designed her own line of glitter dentures that the lab markets as a “party denture.”
Looking forward, Watson is eager to earn her CDT in removables in June. Her plan is to focus more on anatomy and enhance her skills to the point where she can work on fixed, high-end restorative cases. “I intend to be in this field long-term,” she says. “We’re giving...
