  • 8:30am-9:30am: FDA Regulations for Digital Technologies. The more labs integrate technology into manufacturing, the more important it is to understand the way FDA approaches regulating these activities. Gary Morgan, CDT, ASQ/CQA, focuses on regulations that affect implementing CAD/CAM in the lab; the materials, processes and software used; and 510(k) and registration requirements. He also discusses the requirements for a compliant quality system. Approved for 1 Regulatory Standards credit.
  • 9:45am-10:45am: Financial Management 101 for Digital Lab Workflow. Managing a profitable laboratory requires a keen understanding of the true costs of materials, equipment/technology and labor. Travis Zick gives a broad overview of generating revenue and managing expense in a digital workflow environment. He also covers what Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and industry benchmarks to shoot for. Approved for 1 Professional Development credit.
  • 11:00am-12:00pm: Chairside Services and Digital Dentures as Niche for Growth.The role of the technician is more important than it ever has been. Technicians are increasingly working chairside in a variety of ways to help dentists deliver the best possible outcomes. David Avery, CDT, TE, covers best practices for chairside conversions, consultation protocols and dental team training. The second part of the course focuses on innovations in digital dentures and how to make them work for your laboratory. Approved for 1 Scientific credit.
