DentalCAD Skool: An Online Academy Centered on exocad Efficiency

When Seth Potter entered our industry in 2015, he joined a laboratory with no digital department. A self-described computer enthusiast, he convinced the owner to let him lead the transition to digital workflows. “I became the digital guy,” he says. “I installed the scanners and mills, learned exocad software and figured it out as I went.”

Armed with his self-taught skills and an entrepreneurial spirit, Potter started his own remote design services company in 2020. Since he could design from anywhere, this venture also allowed him to fulfill his love of travel: Paraguay now serves as his home base, though he still spends time in his native Canada and travels frequently throughout North America for industry events.

Next, Potter wanted a new challenge so he became an exocad Independent Certified Trainer, a selective process that includes interviews, curriculum planning, hands-on testing and a licensing fee. In 2025, he founded the DentalCAD Skool, an online subscription-based academy focused on advanced dental design using exocad software.
