"In 1952, I moved from Philadelphia to Auburn, NY to open BonaDent," said Angelo Bonafiglia, Founder of BonaDent Laboratories, in the November/December 1999 issue of LMT. "My wife Agnes and I drove...See more up with a truck full of equipment through a hurricane--which, incidentally, was also named Agnes. We stayed one step ahead of her most of the way, but when we got to New York, we had to wait a few days to set up the lab because the storm had knocked the power out."
Angelo is shown here (on the right) with his brother-in-law, Sy, in the early days of BonaDent. Today, the 200-person business--with locations in New York, Florida and South Carolina--is owned by Angelo's son, Bruce, who has been working at the lab since the age of five, when he earned ten cents an hour to clean denture flasks and run errands for his dad.
