Schnabel’s interest in dental technology began as he assisted his father, Douglas Schnabel, a Certified Dental Technician in their family dental laboratory. Craig received his Associate Degree in Dental Technology from Ferris State University and started his own career as an apprentice ceramist at a highly-respected crown and bridge laboratory in Troy, Michigan. Schnabel soon had an opportunity to buy Modern Dental Laboratory and implement its conversion into a lean, efficient, state-of-the-art facility. His continued pursuit of excellence led him to seek out the most challenging national seminars and ultimately to establish Glen Douglas Studio, an innovative customer-focused laboratory designed to meet the challenges of today’s cosmetic dental revolution. His extensive educational and professional experience make Schnabel one of the country’s top technicians.
According to LMT's 2012 Wage Survey, technicians in the CAD/CAM department are seeing the biggest wage increases. For instance, an all-around CAD/CAM technician with six to 10 years of experience is now earning $19.79 per hour, $3.41 more than in 2010, and a CAD/CAM technician with 11-15 years of experience is now earning $21.06, a $5.07 boost.
