Felix Silva, CDT
Upon graduating from Texas State Technical College in 1989, Felix Silva began his career in dental technology with Westbrook & Associates in Garland, Texas where he developed an interest in ceramics. Felix became certified in all aspects of PTC. Demonstrating initiative from the start, Felix earned a fast track promotion into management by implementing internal control policies and procedures that increased production and minimized costs through process improvements and efficiencies.
In 1993, Felix parlayed his ever-expanding portfolio of qualifications covering production, sales and operations into a new venue as coworker of American Dental Laboratory. Tasked with providing leadership through start up, Growth and turnaround situations, he repeatedly proved his ability to deliver strong and sustained results by concentrating on account management and customer relationships. His flexibility in responding to changing market conditions and ability to "wear many hats" allowed him to achieve 100% retention of key accounts and exceed projected sales figures.
Dedicated to his craft and education, Felix is a CDT in Crown and bridge by the National Board of Certification. He also has completed course studies from Dawson Advanced Education Center (Dr.Peter Dawson); Box Learning Systems (Dr.Jeff Morley, Dr.Jimmy Eubank); Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (Master Dental Technician Claude Sieger, Master Dental Technician Jergen Kamrath, Arlo King, CDT); Texas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (Dr. John Koise, Dr.Frank Spears).
Felix has an extensive background in staff development and has lectured on behalf of dental manufactures such as Vident, Xrite, and Zahn. He is also a regular speaker at state and local dental associations and/or conferences. Felix recently received Presidency of the Dallas Laboratory Association of Texas, Member and Treasurer of the Dallas Laboratory Association of Texas, Member of the American Academy of cosmetic Dentistry and local Affiliates, Former President of the Dallas Laboratory Owners Association.
In 2009, Felix exited his position with American Dental Laboratory to focus on his sole project... Dental Design Studio. He proudly introduced his new boutique dental laboratory in Uptown Dallas in May. His dual understanding of beauty and function- Brought his artistic training and clinical skills- allow him to ultimately deliver smiles with more pristine aesthesis and superior function.
In October of 2010 Felix took Dental Design Studio and methodically planned a merger with seven specifically hand-picked laboratories to create a full service dental laboratory called Amerident. Servicing the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex Amerident a 10 month young corporation has three strategically positioned locations. As Senior Executive Director, Felix over sees every operation thus growing the company in a very rapid pace.
In October of 2011 Felix teamed up with Gail Johnson CDT and owner of Perfect Impressions one the most sought after dental laboratories in central Texas. With Felix's years of experience and passion in the crown and bridge industry they collectively worked at building the infrastructure and managing the lab to support a elite group of dentists and technicians.
With the vast amount of years' experience Felix possess in managing and owning dental laboratories, Felix was offered a position with SomnoMed USA in Frisco, Texas January of 2013. SomnoMed a global company 8 years young is the leader in Sleep Apnea devices. Felix currently holds the position as Operations Manager leading all aspects of Logistics Department, Service Laboratory Department and overseas manufacturing facilities.
Felix Silva brings a wealth of experience developed during a rich and varied career in Dental Technology. The scope of his experience has spanned virtually all aspects of management, including production, marketing, sales, team building, leadership, technology implementation and operations administrations.
