Jeffry Tobon was born in Medellin, Colombia. Ever since he was a child he has been involved in dental technology. His father Fredy Tobon owned and operated a dental laboratory which focused on removable prosthodontics. His family left colombia in 2001 and came to the United States seeking new opportunities and start a new life. In 2008 he graduated from New York City College of Technology with an AAS Degree in Restorative Dentistry. He received the Russo Award for excellence and the Award for Fixed Prosthodontics. After graduation he focused on educating and learning about every aspect of dentistry. He strongly believes in the saying “Knowledge is power”. He worked with two members of Art & Experience Carlos Ponce and Diego Campuzano. He also had the opportunity to take courses with Felix Pages and Claude Sieber. Looking to expand his field of knowledge in the dental field he got a job with Dr. Michael L. Gelb at The Gelb Center in Manhattan. Here he learned how to make the famous Gelb Appliance, as well as the NYU and Farrar Appliances which are used in TMJ treatment. While working here once a week he would go to work at the office of Dr. Leonard Kobren. Here he worked with great technicians like Samantha Blake C.D.T and Alfred Lalli B.A, M.D.T. He than later on took a job at Prosthodontic Associates of Long Island, at this dental office he worked in an in-house lab where he had an opportunity to work with and learn from many great technicians Piera Chen M.D.T, Brian Ross M.D.T, Robert Melodia C.D.T. Working here he was sent for training at Nobel Biocare and this is where his interest in Digital Dentistry began. From his training learned how to use the scanners and learned both tooth design and implant design. Pursuing to learn more he worked as a Digital Design Specialist in different high end laboratories gaining experience and strengthening his skills. In 2012 he founded Infinite Dental Prosthetics Inc, a one man operation where using Exocad and 3Shape he reached out to dentist that wanted to get involved with Digital Dentistry. While working from home, he managed to  hold a full time job at the same time. Interested in learning more, he was one of the first people to work with 3Shape Implant Studio here in the United States. He than with the help of Dr. Donald Binderow, Learned and fabricated surgical guides thru surgical guide planning using this software. Jeffry realized that by combining his “bench skills” and his “digital design skills” he was a step above most technicians. In 2015 he starts working with Roberto Rossi M.D.T and his wonderful cast of technicians at Synergy Dental Ceramics Inc. Since Roberto and Jeffry started working together they had a vision. The vision to create the laboratory of the future. A laboratory that will focus on the evolution of dental technology. Hence the creation of Digital Dental Smiles, DDS. They knew that utilizing Roberto’s skills in the analog world and Jeffry’s skills in the digital world the possibilities were endless.
