I can say i have to agree with what you have said Larry. legal-regulation can we analyze these words,...See more i by far am not the most gifted person in the world with vocabulary. although i do know that they sound like they have no business being mandatory in the dental labs today. someone once told me when you make a crown, make sure it has function. also needs to have the longevity to last in a patients mouth.

So when you buy a steak at the Grocery store it says FDA approved. thus our products are FDA approved as well. but us as consumers know this cause its stamped on the package. further more we as a consumer are educated in what it means FDA. and why..
Robert, so yes we need to educate patients on what is going in their mouths. I just sat in at a Paterson INlab symposium.. and i was appalled at the lack of focus on their Hippocratic oath. Their main focus was getting butts in and out of the chairs, and making that money as fast as they can.
I to would love to make a lot of money at what I love to do. I do love this, the last 2 years have been so much fun with the technology today and to come. sorry i went off track there.
I do understand they being dentists have paid royally and invested time and learned there professions, and are entitled to charge an outrageous fee for, our lets say $150.00 crown. There is still something missing DO THEY REALLY CARE ????. I'm finding out more today, there are some real winners out there. Yes there are dentists who do care. The ones who Don't, I'm sorry to say this, If you don't like what you do try something else. Don't pick on us dental tech because we do care, and want to learn. We certainly don't do it for the money. Or the fame!! we do it cause we like it and we are good at it. What we do serves the community.
I"m not a CDT, I'm working on remedying that.. also working toward being a master CDT.. which may take some time and Money. but if I've invested 23 yrs in this profession , i may as well receive my post-nominal initials, post-nominal titles or designator y letters at the end of my name. I was reading over some old Bridge posts and saw one about BioEsthetics and Neuromuscular occlusion....See more It got me thinking about how many schools of thought there have been in my 30 years in business. I wish I had a nickel for every time one of my customers took a weekend course and wanted me to buy an expensive new adjustable articulator, only to be used a handful of times and then shelved. At last count we had over 100 adjustable articulators, but it seems only the SAM, Denar, Panadent and Stratos are really used consistently any more. Most of the rest sit up on these high shelves where only I can reach them . . . How many unused articulators do you have, and do you make your customers buy them?
