Bill Wiecherts' grandfather, George, was a pioneer in producing materials for use in fabrication of cast frameworks. He invented duplicating materials incorporating "agar" derived from seaweed, which was patented and used during World War I to produce artificial limbs. George Wiechert is pictured here in this photo (middle row, left side) taken during his lunch break where he worked his first job at Stowe & Eddy Laboratory in Boston, MA. George Wiechert later went on to build his own successful cast partials business. I was wondering if anyone could offer suggestions for a good cast metal frame lab that can handle 50+ frames per month? Need someone with consistency and ability to follow script instructions. Thanks ahead of time for your help.

The much larger building has also allowed the laboratory to improve efficiency and effectiveness. For instance, it installed a dry model trimmer, more pressable furnaces and two large burnout ovens for cast partials--including a much-needed backup unit the lab wasn't able to accommodate previously. "All of these improvements make it so much easier to operate the laboratory," says Homer.
