I was fortunate enough to serve Mr Whitehill during my own tenure at Vident (93-97). Wayne was a true leader, who worked hard alongside his employees, often the first one in the building each morning, and the last to leave at night. Many a Saturday, I was working alone, or thought I was, when the smell of brewing coffee would drift down the hall, and I knew Mr Whitehill was in his office, just like me.
He always had time for a story, knew the names of his employees kids and set an example for the rest of us to live by personally and professionally. Working under him was like getting my MBA, and I took many of those lessons back to my own business. I've stayed close to Wayne and have been fortunate to continue to work with him in some capacity since I departed his employ.
Fred will have some big shoes to fill, but he seems more than capable, and the team there has a lot of confidence in his leadership ability. I'm pleased to see Wayne taking some time to enjoy the fruits of his labors, and spend time with his family, and I'm eager to see Fred continue to take Vident forward in the future. Congratulations to both of them!
