On May 5, 2014, Straumann® released CARES® Visual 8.8 software with new prosthetic options. Included in the launch are the Straumann® CARES® Milled Bar and the Straumann® CARES® Basic Fixed Bar. These bars offer ideal restorations for fully edentulous patients and provide treatment flexibility on implant level and abutment level restorations and individual customization.
The Straumann CARES Milled Bar offers a direct connection to implants and delivers a one-piece solution milled to your specifications. The Straumann CARES Basic Fixed Bar has a sandblasted surface to save time with no visible metal and is wrapped in acrylic, allowing for reline if desired. CARES Basic Fixed Bar is a cost efficient alternative to a ceramic veneered bridge and an ideal fixed solution for ongoing tissue management. These new offerings will allow dental laboratories to stay competitive in today’s market by providing innovative implant borne solutions through a broader spectrum of product and material solutions that optimize workflows and allow them to adapt to the speed of technology.
The Straumann® CARES® screw-retained bars and bridges (SRBB) portfolio featuring the original Straumann implant connection enable dental labs to offer Straumann quality precision and mechanical performance to their customers for reliable Straumann implant platform restorations – without the need of additional abutments and without any changes to current workflow. Offering excellent flexibility, fit and accessibility options, Straumann’s SRBB portfolio provides a solution to help dental labs stay competitive in today’s fastest growing market segment.
Steve Sheehan, Vice President of Straumann’s Lab Division North America, commented: “According to the American College of Prosthodontists, the number of partially edentulous patients is trended to increase over the next 15 years to more than 200 million individuals. Today’s patient has easy and comprehensive access to information through the web and they are requesting implant treatment more frequently. They have high expectations of their dentists and demand lower costs. Restorative doctors then place these demands on their lab partners. We are very pleased to address our customers’ needs with new bar designs and additional fixed edentulous solutions – that will give labs the opportunity to provide economical, efficient and high quality solutions.”
Straumann is on the cutting edge of digital dentistry with a complete digital package designed for seamless connectivity to simplify workflows and offer interdisciplinary care amongst the treatment team. Straumann CARES Digital Solutions deliver a full prosthetic workflow including CAD/CAM integrated design technology that is reliable, precise and dedicated to the needs of clinicians and laboratory technicians.
