The AACD Charitable Foundation recently received a $5,000 grant from the Patterson Foundation to help patients in the Give Back a Smile (GBAS) program. To date, GBAS has helped restore the smiles of more than 1,000 domestic violence survivors. The grant specifically helps patients with travel expenses to and from their dental appointments where GBAS volunteer dentists and dental teams work to repair their smiles.
"Many GBAS patients live a onsiderable distance from the closest GBAS volunteer dentist in their area," says Lisa Fitch, AACD Charitable Foundation Director. "We're very thankful to the Patterson Foundation for this grant. These funds will help us as we continue our efforts to help survivors." For more information, visit www.givebackasmile.com.
