Usage of CAD/CAM technology provides increased benefits to the clinician and can offer esthetic results for patients. The expanded capabilities of current CAD/CAM scanners to accurately scan and design restorations will be presented, from single-tooth to full-mouth rehabilitations and implant restorations.
The process of creating provisional and final CAD/CAM restorations with the lab will be covered, from material selection and digital model fabrication to CAD/CAM lab procedures and completing the final restoration. Connectivity between current CAD/CAM scanners and intra-oral scanners allows the restorative doctor to take a digital impression, make any occlusal modifications chairside, and send the file to the laboratory to design the restoration.
