Schutz's new desktop-size scanner, the Tizian Smart Scan, features an optical light and large-capacity scanning bay that allows you to scan fully articulated models with most articulation systems. In addition, the camera is positioned at a 45° angle. "This means each scan only requires 20 pictures compared to 60 in the previous-generation model. Since there is less data to mesh together, the scan time is up to 70% faster," explained John Schaible, President of Schutz Dental Group. For example, the unit can scan a single die in 59 seconds or a full jaw in 92 seconds.
The Tizian Smart Scan has an accuracy of less than 10 microns and the open .stl file format means you can work with any open milling system including the Schutz Tizian Eco 4-axis dry milling unit and the Tizian Cut 5 wet/dry 5-axis milling unit. The compact system fits easily on any workspace and comes with the newest version of Schutz exocad, a 64-bit workstation and 22" monitor.
