With an eye on increasing efficiency, Straumann launched the latest version of its CAD/CAM software, Straumann CARES Visual 8.0 during Lab Day Chicago. The enhanced software delivers optimized digital workflows, increased design flexibilities, improved ease of use, and an extended prosthetic product portfolio for implant- and tooth-borne restorations.
"The new software—which comes just 12 months after the release of version 7—along with the implementation of Straumann's new laboratory division last Spring, reaffirms Straumann's strong commitment to the laboratory industry. Despite recent concerns about the direction Straumann is taking in regards to digital workflows, I believe the investments in our new division and our increased stake in Dental Wings further confirms that commitment," said Steve Sheehan, Vice President, Lab Division, North America.
CARES 8.0 completes the integration of the CARES® Visual Software onto the Dental Wings Open Software platform and features various time-saving functionalities like CARES X-Stream™, a one-step, single-tooth implant-based prosthetic restoration process. It allows you to simultaneously design a customized abutment and full-contour crown or coping and requires only one scan and design step and one shipment for all required components. The advantages are reduced turnaround time and shipment costs as well as excellent fit and consistent and reproducible quality.
More introductions from Straumann in Chicago include:
The CARES Variobase™ Abutment, a hybrid abutment with a titanium bonding base and a zirconium dioxide coping. This offers laboratories the combined benefit of a metal-to-metal implant abutment with an original Straumann connection and a variety of shades.
New full contour zerion® HT, a translucent zirconium dioxide ceramic for full contour restorations. The material is available in four esthetic shades and requires minimal processing.
New software functionalities for increased efficiency: simultaneous scan and design, patented* morphing algorithms, mirroring functionality and more.
Four new bar designs for Straumann's tissue-level bar platform. Laboratories now have more bar choices on the tissue- level platform for restorations up to 16 units.
