“The dental industry is rapidly changing,” said Robert Ganley, CEO of Ivoclar Vivadent, during the company’s Experience Innovation event on Friday night in Chicago. “We believe these changes will point the dental industry in a more digital direction with an emphasis on consistent high-quality materials, processes and results. With collaborative partnership and strong leadership, we can connect to the heartbeat of innovation and see improved efficiencies and growth throughout our profession.”
Highlighting the event was the worldwide launch of the new Wieland Zenotec® select milling systems which expand the company’s all-ceramic processing solutions. Designed specifically for dental laboratories, the Zenotec select line includes three milling machines that feature 5-axis milling, a 16-position tool changer, Wieland Zenotec CAM software, expanded bur options and reinforced base for stability. For use with a wide range of materials, the line includes:
- The Zenotec select dry model holds a single disc of material.
- The Zenotec select dry with changer model provides automation via an eight-disc material changer that uses RFID technology; it’s ideal for high production laboratories.
- The Zenotec select wet with changer model—available this summer—enables automated milling of IPS e.max CAD for Zenotec. The key feature is the new patented IPS e.matrix multiholder, which holds up to six blocks of IPS e.max CAD for Zenotec in various sizes and shades. The Zenotec CAM software allows you to custom program each shade/size of block and its position in the IPS e.matrix, allowing six unique restorations to be machined in one milling sequence. And, since the Zenotec select wet can accommodate up to eight IPS e.matrix holders, it’s possible for 48 blocks to be loaded in the machine at one time and sequentially milled.
- Other components of the Zenotec select line include the Zenotec cyclon extraction unit—used with all Zenotec milling systems, including the existing 4-axis Zenotec mini—as well as the Zenotec hydro wet milling filtration unit for the Zenotec select wet.
