“Nobel Biocare believes the laboratory is upfront and integral to the treatment process,” said Tom Olsen, President and General Manager, Nobel Biocare North America, at the company’s NobelProcera Innovation Forum and Reception on Friday night. “Nobel Biocare’s focus is on three value drivers: designing for life, partnering for life and learning for life.”
Joining Olsen on stage were Stefan Holst, DMD, PhD, Global Head of Research and Science, and Peter Wohrle, DMD, MMedSC, a prosthodontist from Newport Beach, CA, who is also a technician. They showcased how the company’s products can help clinicians and labs collaborate more efficiently through an integrated workflow. Among the product highlights:
- NobelProcera 2G Scanner features a smart motorized holder and dynamic scanning that automatically position each object on the model at the ideal height, tile and rotation to obtain optimal scan data. A new data-transfer capability between the NobelProcera 2G Scanner and NobelClinician Sofware allows CBCT scan data to be merged with model surface scan data. That information can be shared via the NobelConnect network among clinicians and other treatment partners to assist in diagnosing and planning implant surgeries as well as restoration design.
- Available in zirconia for Nobel Biocare implants with conical connection, the NobelProcera Angulated Screw Channel (ASC) abutment can be designed with an angulated screw channel of up to 25o from the axis of the implant. Using the Omnigrip screwdriver, clinicians can easily grip the screw at any angle within the available range. This combination solves two challenges for clinicians: buccal screw access holes that limit restorative options in the anterior and difficult access in the posterior region from lack of vertical space.
- The NobelProcera Hybrid fixed-implant bar features new retention elements to better support acrylic and teeth and is ideally suited for the All-on-4® treatment concept.
- The classic precision-milled zirconia copings from NobelProcera as well as abutments are now available to 3Shape users via the new ‘open access’ program launched last fall.
