LMT is sad to report that Louis Henderson Cotton Jr. passed away in September. A well-known and respected leader in the dental laboratory industry, he began his career in 1955 as a courier for Southeastern Dental Lab in Atlanta and later became a technician there. In 1966, he opened his own lab and, in 1967, served a two-year term as President of the Georgia Dental Lab Association. He retired in 2005 from Alpha Dental Ceramics. LMT regrets to report the passing of Nelson Winters in October. Winters, who was the Executive Secretary to the Connecticut Dental Laboratory Association (CDLA) for over 40 years, owned an advertising/public relations agency in Hamden, CT, and served as the original ad agency for Jensen Industries. "Nelson was a driving force behind the CDLA for almost five decades and will be sadly missed by all those who knew him and worked with him during those years," says Tom Fenick, CDT, former owner of Advanced Porcelain Laboratory, Bridgeport, CT.
"His support and encouragement will never be forgotten," says Judy Fishman, LMT President. "When I arrived in Connecticut to start LMT, he was the first person I called." To sign a memorial book, please visit www.wellerfuneralhome.com.
