Figure 1: Before: the 34-year-old female patient wanted to improve the esthetics of her teeth which were compromised by a large filling in tooth #8 and severe discoloration on tooth #9 caused by trauma and improper restoration following a root canal.
Figure 2: After making a diagnostic waxup, the team opted for a pressed veneer on #8 and a layered full porcelain crown on #9, both made with the Cerpress SL Pressable Ceramic System from Leach and Dillon Products.
Figure 3: Technician Vladimiro Obinu, CDT, layered both the full crown and veneer and shaped the crown and created superficial texture to the veneer. Next, with the patient in the lab, he characterized the restorations using Sensation SL Fluorescent Stains.
Figure 5: After (b): Dr. Dentici cemented the final crown and veneer with a transparent, medium opacity, composite bonding cement.
Figure 4: After (a): Dr. Dentici cemented the final crown and veneer with a transparent, medium opacity, composite bonding cement.
