5 Awesome Social Media Content Ideas
Posted Jan 09, 2017 in Web Exclusive
So you’re finally on board with social media and you’ve set up a Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages for your laboratory. But now fear has set in as you wonder what to post.
If this sounds like you, don’t fret; I’ve got five content examples that should get your creative juices flowing in no time:
Share your kick-a$$ case photos: Grab that smartphone of yours and start snapping away! Instagram is the perfect social media network to showcase your case photos and this is a popular strategy among laboratory technicians; at the time of this post, there are over 46K photos tagged with the hashtag #dentaltechnician!
Tout your testimonials: If a doctor sends an email saying how ecstatic he was with a restoration or you get a phone call from a client thanking you for rushing a case, don’t let these golden nuggets fall by the wayside. Ask your clients if you can use their testimonials and share them on social media. All you need to do is turn that quote into a graphic—click here to see my blog post on which free, easy-to-use graphic design tools you can use—and post away! Remember to tag your client’s practice if he has a social account as well so you get more exposure.
Promote your cool, new products and equipment: Have you started to use a higher translucency zirconia or just bought a fancy new CAD/CAM system? Use this opportunity to tell your audience about it and why it’s going to make your restorative services even better than they already are. This lets clients see you as an informed owner who stays up-to-date on the newest industry products and trends. Tag the manufacturer of the product or equipment in the post as well to increase the chance of it getting shared.
Brag about your rock star employees: It’s not only really nice to feature your hard-working employees, but it will also boost engagement on your Facebook page. Posting a photo and short write up on how valuable the employee is will likely get shared by that employee, other coworkers, the employee’s family members… the list goes on. Tag your employee’s personal Facebook account and watch the magic happen.
Ride the viral train: Sometimes it’s important to have a little fun and use the viral campaign of the moment to give your posts some longer legs. Viral videos like the #icebucketchallenge or the #mannequinchallenge swept everyone’s social feeds and got lots of engagement and participation from industries all over the world. Stay on top of what’s trending and, once in a while, throw your hat in the ring.
