The 3Shape clinic room at LAB DAY was bustling as the company made several key announcements and offered a variety of product demonstrations. Show attendees got the first look at 3Shape's latest scanner, the D900, that offers four high-res 5MP cameras and blue LED technology for excellent speed, high accuracy and color scanning using 3Shape RealColor™ Technology. A new multi-die scanning solution provides efficient batch and multi-case processing, ideal for high-volume, production-oriented labs.
3Shape also announced LABcare, a new comprehensive support, education and upgrade program automatically given to every 3Shape Dental System™ subscribed user. "LABcare is designed to give labs a competitive edge, a secure CAD/CAM investment, and plenty of added value because it directly addresses support, training and upgrading—three critical areas for labs using digital technologies," said Rune Fisker, VP Product Strategy.
3Shape LABcare customers receive:
Upgrades: A system upgrade every year with new functionality, design tools, service options and indications, and smaller updates throughout the year. Users can also take advantage of 3Shape's special "Scanner Trade-in" programs to upgrade the user's scanner and PC at attractive prices.
Training: Access to 3Shape's online Trainings Center with manuals and training videos; news, tips and tricks directly to the user's mailbox; local hands-on training by 3Shape certified experts; open training courses at selected events and 3Shape centers; and free online webinars.
Support: Access to worldwide support network with certified 3Shape representatives and 3Shape experts for special cases.
The company also announced new features and added power in the TRIOS® digital impression system, including:
40% faster impression capture via TRIOS Ultrafast Optical Sectioning™ software, and optimized post and core scanning where high accuracy and reliable depth capture are especially critical. Both of these features are available to existing users who upgrade their software.
The TRIOS Pod solution. An alternative to the TRIOS cart, this mobile solution allows dentists to plug TRIOS into selected laptops or PCs allowing mobility and flexibility for those working in multiple locations or for clinics with limited space.
Ability to control TRIOS from an iPad or mirror the live 3D view directly on other displays in the clinic such as monitors integrated in the chair.
New tip with anti-mist heater for undistorted and clear scanning.
TRIOS for Orthodontics captures full arches and the occlusal situation as input for digital study models, treatment planning and appliance design. TRIOS for Orthodontics includes 3Shape Ortho Analyzer™ software allowing clinics to perform treatment simulations, virtual setups and analyses on the scanned model.
The TRIOS Color was announced at the IDS in March; watch the May issue of LMT for details.
